DescriptionTen inch-wide strips of SAKI-ORI (rag woven) are sewn halfway (the back) and left open halfway (the front). The applique and SASHIKO (embroidered) rectangular area behind the neck, reinforces and is part of the collar which is also made up of a woven blue and brown cotton with appliqued overlaps (again for reinforcement of the neck area). The vest is held together by small SAHSIKO panels of cotton at the waist level.
