DescriptionFigure without base in semi-reclining pose. Probably was originally held in arm of a large bulto. Figure has original layer of gesso and tempera under the presently exposed 2d layer of gesso and tempera. The image has abnormally mature development of chest and back muscles for one representing an infant. The orb in the right hand is painted black, red, and white instead of the conventional blue. The eyes are deeply hollowed out for a New Mexican piece.
