DescriptionThis hand-sewn, long vest is made of natural white wool that has been felted. It is slightly flared. The bodice has an appliqued red wool, cut-out, decorated with a row of couched silved metallic bands and a thin, embroidered band outlined in orange thread. The center openings have brown, wool braid trim that is also at the side slits. The bottom hem opening is sewn into a fringe. The side gussets also have red appliqued figures similar to that of the bodice. It is outlined in orange thread, has a row of gold-colored glass beads, and is embroidered on the inside in green, orange, blue, and white thread.Early-mid 20th century
