DescriptionTin candlesticks with glass insets backed with red, green, yellow and blue wallpapers in the pyramidal bases. The tall shafts each have two tin birds on each side, below nodes bearing six tiny flowers, with drip plates above and below.

These candlesticks are attributable to Higinio V. Gonzales. The birds near the bases of the candlesticks match HVG's other birds in examples cited in Maurice Dixon's book "The Artistic Odyssey of Higinio V. Gonzales." These were most likely made for a church in northern New Mexico. - Carla Gilfillan
