DescriptionTempera over gesso on hand adzed pine panel with five sided lunette top. Companion panel to A9.1954.14 R of St. Jerome. Figure is delicately drawn and colored in the manner of Jose Aragon when working after a print. The statue painting is framed by a painted oval of leaves adn another of painted rose rope molding. The pedestal is treated as a seperate element without confusion, a crescent moon is below the feet and there is a pair of tall tapers. A Scroll below the oval borders is lettered "N.S. de San Juan de los Lagos".mid 19th century, C. Mather
