DescriptionStorage container of glazed ceramic with iron lid with hasp to be locked. Cylindrical form with wide upper body tapering to a narrow base. Stoneware with dark brown tonan glaze overall and yellow line and dot decoration at shoulder. (Probably identified contents- comment of David Rabinsky). iron lid made in Mexico and attach. to ceramic vessel in Mexico. Iron work probably 18th. c. made to be for wine but no winde odor apparent in closed interior -- may have been use to store chocolate, gold or silver as well.
