DescriptionHuipil from Aguas Caliente, 19c. white cotton ground scarcely visible as garment is almost completely brocaded. Bands of multi-colored cotton,serrate, diamond, checkered motifs.Two panel, four selvedge huipilk, solidly brocaded in multicolor cotton geometric designs, handsewn seams, possibly 19th century, heavily twisted warp threads, evidence of neck and armhole binding which no longer exists, white warp and weft.
