DescriptionMedium golden brown rectangular basket (a) with two handles on long sides and splint "foot" protecting bottom. Splints support and protect corners. Basket woven of diagonal herringbone weave. At top of foot is a bentwood switch wrapped with rattan, which attaches the splint to the bottom of the basket. A similar switch wraps the top, and here the handles are attached. The lid (b) of similarly woven rattan with wrapped switches about 1 1/4" from top edge and again at top edge. A splint X crosses the top, the edge finished with a pair of small switches sewn to the edge, and the lower edge decorated with a triangular pattern of three stitches.
